"I've been to the mountaintop," he declared, "and I've seen the Promised Land."He asked his listeners to carry on with faith, even if they had to do it without him. He shared with them his very personal belief that if he could be given the opportunity to stand in heaven and choose the time and place he would most like to live, he would want to travel through the ages to watch Lincoln and the great Martin Luther and the builders of Rome and many others. But, he assured the crowd; in the end he would ask for just what he had received, a few years in the second half of the twentieth century to witness the beginnings of change unfold.Jump from the window with Michael and travel to the mountaintop.
