It is an action filled, amusing story about a little boy and his robot. Initially the boy exercises dominant power over the robot completely ignoring his new friend's personal wellbeing. However, this particular robot was designed to think and realizes that he must make some changes in his programming. He becomes aware that he must have control of his own feelings and actions and not allow anyone to decide what he will think or what he will feel.Ultimately Rodney does get control of himself and the friendship becomes deeper and more respectful. The object is to teach children that they are responsible for their own feelings and thoughts, and that they can create things in their lives by thinking and planning, and then taking action to make their dreams come true.
