The teenagers find out about the Mayan's calendar and their prophecies about the World of the Fifth Sun that comes after 2012. The Caribanstories collection is fiction based on matrix showing four main categories of documentation: vodou, black magic, first-peoples, and endemic ecology. Contemporary Caribbean artists have contributed directly and indirectly to this work with their music, artwork, and lifestyles where the magical and incredible is the spice of everyday life of the privileged people who live on the islands today.

Geneviève Douyon Flambert is a Haitian-American educator born and raised in the United States, who embraced a Caribbean reality the second half of her life. Writing provides insights in determining her identity. Geneviève lives with her family on the two-nation island once called Kiskeya.
