She was trapped! Her sister Kara was screaming uncontrollably through her bloody toothless mouth. Both her legs were twisted, outward the wrong way, straddling the hump on the floorboard. Her brother, Tommie, had no face only a sheet of thick, red, blood where his face should have been. Mother's eyes were closed with her body slouched down, the steering wheel, embedded in her stomach. Jade suddenly heard a gurgling sound coming from the seat in front of her. She turned her attention to the seat in front of her, where the gurgling sound was coming from. It was Lyla, her grandmother. She was crumpled downward in the floorboard in the passenger side of the front seat. Thank God! She was faced downward! The passenger window in front of her was shattered. There were trances of blood on the outer edges of the hole in the windshield. Jade's mind was spinning out of control with one single thought. "She is dead! She is dead!" She cringed and closed her eyes. She turned toward the car window not wanting to see anymore. "Please, please, I don't want to be here anymore!" She thought in desperation. As she shut her eyes, the nightmare that seemed real began to slip away. It was just another flashback nightmare. This one was more terrifying than the reoccurring nightmare she had experienced when she was six. The one where she would wake only to be blinded by the gyrating, white, circles of light she couldn't escape... couldn't see past. Would her nightmares ever end?

L'autore
Sarah Tristan has written several short stories and children?s articles during the past fifteen years. Cheat Codes, is her first published novel and is what she hopes will be one of many stories to share with you. She is a life-time resident of Texas, as well as, being a great great great grand-daughter of the Pioneers of Texas. She holds a degree in Education and loves reading and viewing all types of science fiction drama. She is a certified scuba diver and loves to travel.
