Our human race, despite the fact that we have produced the symphony, spacecraft, supercomputers, speech, and countless other wonders, nonetheless has a fatal flaw. This flaw will lead to our destruction, sooner or later. Or, so Bea de Winter thought. And Bea, a prize student in biophysics, took it upon herself to develop the ability to eliminate this flaw, and decided to do so, despite the great trauma that would have to accompany the solution. You may be curious about what such a flaw could be, and how indeed could anything be done about it? If so, you are ready to enter the world of Mistakes of Nature.

M R Cates is a physicist by training. His writing started spontaneously, apparently when his Muse gave the signal. He loves to include technology in his stories, but not at the expense of the story itself. He believes that novels are primarily the possession of the reader, and that the writer can hope at best to be guide for the reader's imagination. Each reader, therefore, has the joy of ownership of her or his very own reading experience, a story that has been processed through the unique character of the reader's intellect. It is his hope that these many variations on a theme will make life even more meaningful for the wonderful times we live in.
