This book was written for student nurses in training and their supervisors (both nurse teachers and qualified clinical staff), and was designed to bring nursing theory into line with the changes that are currently taking place in the delivery of nursing care. It is a basic text outlining the principles of nursing practice and their application in the clinical setting. It explains the rationale that lies behind nursing practice using activities of daily living, and is already established in its first edition as an essential reference text both for student nurses throughout their training and in a clinical setting for new nursing staff. The new edition has been revised and expanded to reflect current developments and should be used by all nurses at some point in their career.
