The nineteenth edition has been thoroughly revised and updated to reflect the considerable changes in agricultural practices which have taken place during the last six years. Particular emphasis has been placed on animal welfare, the environment, organic agriculture and the changes in the European Union Common Agricultural Policy.
The text is divided into four parts: farm management, crop production, animal production and farm equipment. Within these sections the chapters dealing with farm staff management, agricultural law, soil management and farm woodland management have been given a new approach by authors who have not previously contributed to the book, and a chapter dealing with animal welfare has been added. The text is supplemented by numerous tables and figures and provides the reader with a wealth of information that is easy to access.
Students of agriculture and countryside studies together with farmers, land agents, advisers and all those with an interest in the industry will find The Agricultural Notebook an invaluable source of information.
