Are you tired of living a life that doesn’t fit?
Find your place and serve others in a way that is truly yours.
Without a clear sense of identity, we find ourselves squeezed into jobs and activities that are not right for us. Our days are filled to the brim with things others want us to do, things we feel we should do, and things that just happen across our paths. We are bored, busy, strung out and just plain weary.
As you journey through Boots That Fit, you will learn to use your unique gifts and callings to serve God and your community in ways that suit your personality, your values and your life situation. Ruth Amos gives practical advice that helps you say no to the activities that are not yours, and to organise your life so that you can make the time and have the energy for pursuits that bring you joy.
Author of My Year of Saying No, and creator of A Quiet Life, her blog and podcast, Ruth Amos has spent the last five years helping others simplify their lives and live more peacefully and with more purpose. Her wisdom has been appreciated by people aged 20 and 80 and everyone in between.

"There is so much to like about Ruth Amos’ Boots that Fit. Not only is it friendly, easy to read and comprehensive in its scope, it is also so very practical. The activity section at the end of each chapter is a gold mine. Leadership books come and go, but this one is clearly worthy of recommendation." Rev Peter Adlem.
"In her book Boots That Fit, Ruth shares some of the hard-won wisdom and insights she has gained through her own journey of personal growth and spiritual transformation. Covering key ingredients for living well, combined with practical tools for real-life application, this book is sure to be a great help to others on their own journey of personal growth." Rev Nick Overton
"I’m really encouraged, having read BTF, as I see Ruth’s collective wisdom as being one little ‘treasure’ I can utilise in my mentoring ministry - and my own life!
Almost all of those I mentor as Christians find themselves caught in the ‘busyness’ of life – including Christian ministry. They’ve come to a point of losing God - and themselves – somewhere in the ‘shoulds' of life.
BTF is a timely guide to assist people in taking a breath, and reorienting themselves to what brings life and health. It is NOT a ‘self-help’ guide, as so many are marketed these days, but it is the accumulated wisdom and advice of someone with lived experience, written with humour, and a testimony to the God who is guiding her on this journey.
I intend to recommend it to my fellow mentors, and expect the exercises to be a regular part of my mentoring ‘toolkit’. Well done and thank you, Ruth." Libby Todd

Ruth is an author, podcaster, blogger, speaker, and editor. After working as a lecturer in chemistry for ten years, she left the hustle of academia to follow her ambition to lead a quiet life (1 Thess 4:11). Since then, she has published five novels and a memoir, gone on several quiet retreats, taken regular Sabbaths, and learned to live in the 'unforced rhythms of grace' (Matt 11:28-30, The Message). You may have heard her regular Thursday morning chats with Scottie on Ultra106.5.Ruth is married to Moz, and they have two grown-up children, two children-in-law and two delightful grandsons. She loves reading, is a relatively unskilled knitter, and enjoys walking along the beach (pretty much any beach will do).
