The success which has attended the introduction of the Differential Engine, and the request I Often receive for informa tion respecting it, has induced me to publish a description of the engine with illustrations of the different types which are in use; and in doing so I have appended a few notes and memoranda which may be of some use to practical men engaged in pumping Operations.
