Excerpt from Die Kechua-Sprache, Vol. 1: Sprachlehre

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book, a seminal work in the field of linguistics, investigates the origins of the indigenous peoples and languages of the Americas. The author assembles an exhaustive collection of evidence from history, religion, and linguistics to challenge established theories of a single, nomadic origin for the indigenous peoples inhabiting the Americas. The author argues that archaeological, linguistic, and cultural evidence points to multiple waves of migration, both north and south, and challenges the idea that indigenous American languages are all related. Challenging prevailing thought, the author brings to light evidence of transpacific contact between the Americas and Asia, and the possibility that the first Americans may not have migrated from Asia. The authorâs insights will reshape our understanding of the settlement of the Americas and lead to a more nuanced appreciation of the linguistic and cultural diversity of the indigenous peoples of the Americas.
