Su questo libro

Dalla quarta di copertina

This book, an antidote to texts offering a cut-and-paste approach to the discipline, is a readable and comprehensive introduction to Pipelined and Parallel processing architectures. A result of the twenty-year teaching experience of third-time author Sajjan Shiva, its logical progression of chapters, overview of complete systems and emphasis on the fundamentals makes Pipelined and Parallel Computer Architectures the perfect text for students taking a second course in computer architecture. Each chapter not only provides the most generic hardware aspects--followed by supporting details on corresponding programming languages, data structures, and operating systems--but provides details of representative commercially available systems. This potent combination of detailed information and practical examples separates this text from research-oriented reference books, and makes it readily accessible to both the teacher and the student.
