“In Synchronicity, Rasnic shows us the poetry lurking within our everyday experiences. Whether writing about bullies, trophy wives or our need for validation on social media, his images have a precise focus, revealing how life and art are inextricably bound together.”
—Ian Chung, Editor, Eunoia Review
“The content within Ben Rasnic’s Synchronicity alternates between dark and light, violent and sweet (‘the snap of low branches / beneath a flutter of wings’), traditional landscapes mixed with occasional disorders and oppositions (like a ‘shriek of white silence’). Since the definition of synchronicity is ‘the simultaneous occurrence of causally unrelated events and the belief that the simultaneity has meaning beyond mere coincidence,’ that title seems to fit this collection.”
—Juliet Cook, Editor, Thirteen Myna Birds
“The poems in Syncronicity are accessible without sounding pedestrian and expressive, without beating the reader over the head. Above all else, Ben Rasnic's work is an affirmation of unmitigated humanity.”
—Jack Marlowe, Editor, Gutter Eloquence Magazine
“If the job of the poet is to make us feel through his ability to utilize language to its full potential, with stark precision and beauty, Rasnic does his job. The poems in his chapbook showcase a talent for exploring timeless themes by juxtaposing them with pop culture references and an underlying dark humor. Synchronicity forces the reader to give equal thought to what is personal to the speaker and what seems to bear no relation to his private feelings, yet is out there, in some other world, existing just the same.”
—April Salzano, co-editor, Kind of a Hurricane Press
