Ron Collins grew up in the baseball Bermuda Triangle made up by Chicago, Cincinnati, and St. Louis. At various times has considered himself a fan of the Cubs, Reds, and Cardinals. Yes, the Cubs and the Cardinals. Go figure. He's been a baseball fan for as long as he can remember, which is longer than he would like to admit. He has contributed numerous stories to professional science fiction publications including Analog, Asimov's, and Nature. His writing has received a Writers of the Future prize, and a CompuServe HOMer Award. His work has been named to Locus Magazine's Recommended Reading list, Tangent Online’s Recommended Reading List, and to Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling's Year's Best Fantasy & Horror list. "Picasso's Cat & Other Stories," a collection of the Science Fiction of Ron Collins, was published in 2010. A year later he published "See the PEBA on $25 a Day," a baseball alternate history, road trip, mystery,fantasy novel. "Five Magics," a collection of his sword and sorcery fantasy work was published in 2012, and his collaboration with John C. Bodin, "Four Days in May" (a set of science fiction stories set in and around the Indianapolis 500) was published in May, 2014. All are available in multiple formats through his website, noted below. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and worked developing avionics systems, electronics, and information technology before spending a decade in Human Resource management. He lives in Columbus, Indiana, with his wife, Lisa.
