Jake McNicholas is former member of the NYPD, where he served for twenty-three years, retiring in 2007 as a First Grade Detective. Many of his years with the NYPD were spent in Manhattan North Narcotics. During that time, he had many opportunities to see the city at its worst—and also at its finest. The events of 9/11 left an indelible impression upon the man, as did his entire career as a member of New York’s finest. He is currently working with the US Attorney’s Office. He has been a member of the NYPD Emerald Society Pipe Band since 1991.
