The book is lavishly illustrated throughout with 105 illustrations, in both colour and monochrome. ***Near fine in pictorial glossy laminated boards. Boards clean and unmarked. No bumps. Corners sharp. Bottom of spine just slightly creased. Internally near fine. No internal inscriptions. Pages bright white and crisp. ***In a near fine colour illustrated dustwrapper, which replicates the design on the boards. The dustwrapper is unpriced. No tears. There is just a small area of rubbing and slight surface loss to the top of the spine of the dustwrapper. ***208 pages including a detailed section of Further Reading, Notes and an Index. 245 mm x 170 mm. ***'Towns of great complexity, brought to light in the last 150 years in Iraq and Iran and in Pakistan, have been dated back some 50 centuries. They were the centres of ancient Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley.
