Strategic Planning and Performance Measurement: Develop & Measure a Winning Strategy, provides a clear and concise roadmap for designing, implementing and measuring strategy. The focus is on strategic factors, which are defined in a unique way as the criteria on which an organization or business unit has to do well in order to succeed.

For organizations to be successful, they must take a stakeholder perspective of their performance - stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, employees and owners. The book cites many case studies including: 7-Eleven, Roche, K-mart, McDonald's, Levi Strauss, Accor Hotels, Gallo Wines, Daimler Chrysler, Sears Roebuck, Mont Blanc, Tag Heuer, Lexus, Semco, Bright Horizons, Burns Philp, Scania Trucks and British Airways.

This book provides a quantum leap forward in improving organizational performance. Management practitioners across the globe will find immediate and practical applications of its methods.

Strategic Planning and Performance Management: Develop & Measure a Winning Strategy shows how to:

· Make strategic management simple yet highly effective
· Integrate strategic analysis, strategy formulation and performance measurement
· Compete in three ways - Scale, Scope and Structure and write these 3 S's of Strategy to gain a competitive edge
· Evaluate organization outcomes effectively
· Implement strategy and measurement throughout an organization.

Recensione:
"I find the framework presented by Graham Kenny to be a better alternative to the Kaplan and Norton "balanced scorecard" approach to strategic management. While this book provides a similar means to formulate a multidimensional game plan and scorecard, it does so in a way that allows for greater flexibility to design a custom strategy and implementation plan most appropriate for any unique organization. The practical advice and useful examples presented throughout make for a compelling and enlightening read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book."

It takes the key ideas on strategy, demystifies them, and puts them together in a compelling way that should provide real benefits for managers. This book should be read by all those who want a clear guide on how to think systematically about the strategic factors that can help their company succeed."

From identifying key stakeholders through to writing a strategic action plan, each step of the framework is clearly explained, easy to understand and easy to apply. Kenny's system provides workable applications for all types of organizations. In his preface, Kenny states that his book "is intended for all employees, managers or not, in organizations of all types and sizes--manufacturing or service, large or small". Once you have successfully identified your stakeholders and targeted goals, Kenny encourages you to apply this "new way of thinking" to your own organization as he concludes his book with the final step of "writing a strategic action plan."- Mortgage Originator, March 2007
