This is a procedural guide which lists the key action points that need to be taken when handling a case. The checklists are also useful for monitoring progress, enabling the practitioner to ascertain what action has been taken and what steps remain to be performed. They are designed to be photocopied and attached to a particular file so that the practitioner can see the relevant facts at a glance, and can be used when preparing for a meeting with a client or as an aide-memoire. Developments in the law that have been taken into account include: the Family Law Act 1996; the new regulations on redundancy; the new regulations on consultation and the appointment of representatives; the Pensions Act 1995; the Arbitration Act 1995; the new rules on privity of contracts and leases; and litigation following the Woolf proposals. The accompanying disk contains checklists and precedents, enabling practitioners to print out checklists, store and review file progress, draft key letters and statements, and fill in important forms, saving time and effort.
