Ann Montanaro is an avid pop-up book collector, researcher and author. She is the founder of The Movable Book Society, a world-wide organization with nearly 400 members that has been promoting pop-up books since 1993. Her two volumes of Pop-up and Movable Books: A Bibliography document the history and publication of English-language mechanical books. Ann has a sizeable collection of pop-up and movable books, cards, and promotional materials and has lectured on the history of pop-up and movable books and exhibited works from her collection. Trish Phillips is an author, illustrator and paper engineer. She studied Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Art in London, and her interest in paper engineering was inspired by tutor Paul Jackson, a well-known paper sculptor. Her work with large three-dimensional paper animals and figures and a love of books, especially novelty books, naturally progressed to specializing in pop-ups for children. Trish has taught workshops on paper engineering to teachers, university students and children of all ages. She is the author and illustrator of a number of pop-up books for children.
