In 1957, nine teenagers were chosen to be the first black students to go to the all-white Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Many townspeople wanted to keep them out. The governor of Arkansas even sent in soldiers with guns to block the doors. But those nine students knew they had a right to a good education.
