The Decision-Making Style Inventory
The most recent research into decision making suggests that the most effective leaders are the ones who are able to adapt their decision-making style over time as their roles and responsibilities change.
The Decision Making Style Inventory offers a proven, easily understandable way to assess decision-making style. The inventory measures two dimensions of decision making: Two structural styles Systematic and Spontaneous, and two processing styles Internal and External. The 20-item inventory determines which of four styles is an individual's preferred style. It is a powerful tool that can be used in numerous developmental situations such as formal leadership training, coaching, and even performance appraisals.
The Facilitator Guide includes the information and tools to administer the inventory and walk participants through the evaluation and interpretation process. The assessment takes only 10 minutes to complete and once the scores are plotted, shows each participant their preferred or dominant style, and offers advice on how and when that style is most and least effective. There's information, too, on how to communicate successfully with other styles, and practical suggestions for developing style flexibility. Samples of the participant's workbook and inventory are also included.
