This biography of Jeb Stuart is a masterful portrait of one of the most colorful heroes of America s history. The author personally interviewed members of the Stuart family & had access to letters & papers never before seen by the public. We are given rare insight into a man equally at home in the crash of battle or sitting quietly on the porch at dusk with his wife & children. Thomason s biography vividly recreates the Old South & the violent end of an era. There is no person more powerfully at the center of events than Jeb Stuart, who once said he did not wish to survive the loss of his country s liberty. Photos & maps.
