Thirty-six invited talks and 110 poster papers from the June 1993 meeting represent the most current research contributions on the observations, theoretical interpretations, and empirical and physical models of variations observed in solar and stellar irradiances, with special emphasis on Sun-climate connections. Although considerable information exists on solar-stellar irradiance variations, their physical origin is not well understood, and there is a lack of adequate physical models for predicting solar-induced climatic changes; hence, the meeting passed a resolution urging continuation of irradiance observations performed in space.
