The second story, 'The Brightest Star,' finds this son imprisoned in one of Castro's camps for homosexuals, where his life is unrelieved, mind-numbing labor and brutality. To survive, Arturo writes, on anything he can find, on paper bags and torn-off scraps of political posters and in the margins of stolen official documents.
