The American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) exercises control over graduate and undergraduate accounting education and is composed of business school deans in a number of business areas, not purely in accounting. The author thus believes that the quality of accounting education is reduced. He proposes a graduate school of professional accountancy to both improve the quality of accounting education and to reduce its cost.
