Among her books are <i>Belief and Resistance: Dynamics of Contemporary Intellectual Controversy </i>and <i>Contingencies of Value: Alternative Perspectives for Critical Theory</i>. Smith is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.</p></div>
