Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First Edition (Number Line to 1). 'Illustrated with Photographs and Maps.' A JPS Young Biography.' Somewhat surprisingly, there are no other Signed copies of this book for sale anywhere on the Internet. Very oddly, I couldn't find another Signed copy of any of the author's books. And she is a prolific children's book author with over 100 titles. This book is flat-signed on the title page. The signature is 'Debbie Newberger Speregen'. So I googled that name and found that she appears to use Devra and Debbie interchangeably (ie. her Instagram). As you can see from the photos I've provided, the covers of the book are in excellent condition. They are perfectly clean. The edges and corners are in excellent shape. The gilt lettering on the spine is very bright. There's just a little bit of crinkling at the spine ends and a few light scratches on the rear cover. There are very attractive soft green inside covers and end papers. They are all in excellent condition and perfectly clean. That is the case for the page edges and all of the pages inside the book. They are perfectly clean. I did find one minor imperfection. The tip of the top corner of four consecutive pages got folded over. I straightened them out but there is still a little crease at the tip. There are no markings in this book. No attachments. And with the exception of the author's signature, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The book is square and straight. It is very solidly bound from beginning to end. The jacket is in very good condition as well. It is very clean. It doesn't have any tears. It is not clipped. The only imperfection I see with the jacket is some surface scratching on the rear cover and a very light crease on the front flap. The jacket will be fitted with a protective cover. 'Yonatan "Yoni" Netanyahu (1946-1976)) was an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officer who commanded the elite commando unit Sayeret Matkal during Operation Entebbe, an operation to rescue hostages held at Entebbe Airport in Uganda in 1976. The mission was successful, with 102 of the 106 hostages rescued, but Netanyahu was killed in action, the only IDF fatality during the operation. The eldest son of the Israeli professor Benzion Netanyahu, Yonatan was born in New York City and spent much of his youth in the United States, where he attended high school. After serving in the IDF during the Six-Day War of 1967, he briefly attended Harvard University before transferring to Jerusalem's Hebrew University in 1968; soon thereafter he left his studies and returned to the IDF. He joined Sayeret Matkal in the early 1970s and was awarded the Medal of Distinguished Service for his conduct in the Yom Kippur War of 1973. After his death Operation Entebbe was renamed "Operation Yonatan" in his honour.'. Signed by Author(s). Codice articolo 001900
