The Introduction to each book gives a concise but thorough treatment of its authorship, date, original setting, and purpose. Additional Notes provide fuller discussion of particular difficulties. Darrell L. Bock (PhD, Aberdeen) is executive director of cultural engagement and senior research professor of New Testament studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. His numerous books include commentaries on Luke and Acts and studies of the historical Jesus.
