From a contemporary review: "If I mention that the Rosenwald collection includes such treasures as The Giant Bible of Mainz; Valerius Maximus' Facta et dicta memorabilia; a superb French Book of Hours ascribed to Geoffrey Tory; one of the four copies of William Blake's Milton and Pierre Joseph Redouté's Les Roses, then I will give but a brief idea of its value and scope. The Rosenwald Collection ranges from a group of eighteen Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, through printed books of all the centuries and from all parts of the world. There are a William Blake collection of over seventy items, a collection of 16th and 17th century maps and collections of manuscripts, engravings and drawings."
