Hardback. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fine. First Edition. THE BELLS OF HELL GO TING-A-LING-A-LING. An Autobiographical Fragment Without Maps. Eric Hiscock, Arlington Books. London. 1976 First edition ISBN 0851402577 150pp Hardback. This copy has some typical age toning to the page edges due to paper used but this does not affect the text. The unclipped dust wrapper is lightly sunned to the spine but otherwise fine. Hiscock's 'Bells of Hell' is one of those memoirs of 1914-1918 that gets quoted very frequently in books on World War I, and was widely read in the 1970s and 1980s. It is vivid and well written, and especially interesting from the point of view of the London Regiments and Royal Fusiliers. This very personal story of an under age private, published only in 1976, is disturbing and original because of his refreshing humour and the open-minded way of writing. Friendship and pure love, love that is difficult to write about, makes it impossible to forget. Ref JJJ1. Codice articolo 010551
