Over the last two decades, the Pacific Rim region has gained increased recognition as an economic and political entity. The term “Pacific Rim” is open to various interpretations, but in this book the definition is based on geographical and attitudinal (e.g. trade) arguments as including all countries and areas that border or are located within the Pacific Ocean.
