Earthquakes remain one of the major risks to buildings, bridges and other components of civil infrastructure. The editors and contributors summarize the wealth of recent research in this important book. The first two parts review research in the analysis of ground motion and seismic hazard assessment and discuss different seismic risk hazard methodologies. Solomon Tesfamariam is Assistant Professor of Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Dr. Tesfamariam's current research interest entails developing a multi-hazard risk-based decision support tools for infrastructure management and risk management of civil infrastructure using smart structures.
Katsu Goda is Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol, UK. In 2012 he was awarded the Charles F. Richter Early Career Award from the Seismological Society of America. Dr. Goda's area of research is in earthquake risk management.
