Employs concepts of heat and mass transfer, continuum mechanics, linear and nonlinear evolution equations governing the icing process, moving boundary techniques involving perturbation theory, and matched asymptotic expansions. Describes numerical algorithms and compares theoretical dynamical models with observations whenever possible. Also presents a number of approaches to preventing ice accretion.
