Title page with b/w photograph. B/w and color photographs by Ed Ruscha, from the collection of the Whitney Museum. "Ruscha's involvement with photography stretches over four decades. His early photographs set the tone for future works in all media. What characterized his photographs from the start was their nonchalance and lack of artfulness. He moved quickly and shot from the hip; many of the images are off-kilter and typically made from mid-distance, dead-on perspective." (Weinberg). B/w and color photographs from the exhibition Ed Ruscha Photographer, organized by the Whitney Museum. With catalog of works, selected bibliography and chronology, with index at rear.
