The specific clas of disorders discussed in this book are manifestations of organic neurologic dysfunction, specifically refering to the organic etiological factor, as opposed to 'learning disability. ' The primary purpos of the book is, through ghe guidance it offers, to relievge and avert some of the psychiatric difficulties that arise primarily from parental inexperience, naviete, and misguidance. Althous it may also serve to mitigate and prevent some of the more severe difficulties that children with brain dysfunction may have, it can, at best, play only a limited role in this regard, for such disturbances usually require more intensive approaches than just information and guidance.
