He has worked in and directed a number of research laboratories in France, Germany, and the United States. Mataré has published extensively in science journals, and has lectured in universities in Germany and the United States. He is listed in Who's Who in Science, American Men of Science, Who's Who in the West, Leaders in American Science, Who's Who in California, A Century of Honors, IEEE, Dictionary of International Biography, and others. He is patentee of more than sixty patents, among them the first European transistor patent in 1948.
