One of 101 titles in the St. Joseph Picture Book Series, this book by popular author Father Lawrence G. Lovasik S.V.D., provides children with an explanation of the importance of the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments are special rules that God gave us to help us live good, happy lives and treat others well. These commandments are important because they show us how to love and respect God and each other.

The first three Commandments teach us how to honor God. They tell us to believe in only one God, to use His name with respect, and to keep one day each week holy, usually by going to church, praying, and spending time with family. These remind us to put God first and to show Him love and respect.

The other seven Commandments guide us in how to treat other people. They tell us to respect and obey our parents, to be kind and not harm others, to be honest, to keep promises, to not steal, to speak the truth, and to be happy with what we have instead of being jealous of others.

Following the Ten Commandments helps us make good choices, build strong friendships, and create a peaceful community. They are like a map for living a life full of love and kindness. Even though these commandments were given a long time ago, they are still important today because they teach us how to be good people who help make the world a better place.
