Murray Teigh Bloom is described in a 1993 New York Times article as "a freelancer's freelancer," is the quintessential independent journalist. His writings have appeared in almost every major magazine and he has written several books, including Rogues to Riches, The Man Who Stole Portugal, and a novel, The Thirteenth Man (which was made into a film "The Last Embrace"). He is one of the founders and past president of the American Society of Journalists and Authors. Bloom is a 1937 graduate of Columbia College. Overall, a handsome copy of this rather scarce and much sought after work. Minor shelf/edge wear, ex-libris (stamp at front pastedown and title page, pocked at ffep), small ghost mark at rfep, else tight, bright and unmarred.
