The theme is outlawry although the first tale : `Georg Anton Scheffer - Russian Flags over Hawaii ' might easily be called international politics. Meet Queen Emma Coe Kolbe, William Dampier, Peter Dillon and the Brothers Rorique. UNillustrated, but one map with first story. The settings range from Gazelle Peninsula and Sydney Cove to Botany Bay and Vanikoro. The years are : 1680 to 1895 approx. Cond : Paper wrapper is navy blue w/ white lettering. Cover graphic is a composite drawing of Queen Emma and Will Dampier and two others. Creases at some corners, others chipped - as are edges. One v. soft corner. Spine is fine, colours bright, binding tight. No names, marks, tears, folds nor stains. Mild soiling but still giftable !! Quote (p. 269) : "The Roriques were as skilled in forgery as in murder, and had planned ahead to create a new identity for their stolen vessel.
