P. J. Gartin is a freelance garden writer and coauthor of Some Like It Hot: Plants That Thrive in Hot and Humid Weather. A graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, with a master's degree from The Citadel, her articles have appeared in newspapers and magazines throughout the Southeast as well as the national trade journal American Nurseryman. She has been an active Clemson Extension Service Master Gardener for the past fifteen years. In addition to making frequent appearances on television and radio, she enjoys speaking to organizations that are interested in horticulture.
