L'autore

Nigel Blakeburn was born in 1953 and raised in the town, now city of Sunderland. Educated at Monkwearmouth School he then trained as a teacher at North Riding College in Scarborough before joining the teaching staff at West Derby Comprehensive School in Liverpool, in 1975 where he remained for thirty one years. In 1990, Nigel was diagnosed as having Parkinsons Disease and he retired from teaching in 2006. Nigel now lives with his wife Barbara in St Helens and in recent years he has discovered that he can write the kind of poetry that people to read and listen to. He regularly performs his poetry at a variety of venues around Merseyside, and he has enjoyed enthusiastic receptions. Nigel is a life-long supporter of Sunderland Football Club and he is an enthusiatic member of Woolton Golf Club.
