March 1861. The Lincoln family – loud, western and unrefined - arrive in Washington as the country hurtles towards disunion. As the Lincolns grow apart, their only shared joy appears to be their youngest sons, Tad and Willie, wild prairie flowers transplanted to the capital. Yet within a year of their arrival, tragedy awaits.
