An excellent tribute to a marvellous Canadian historical artist / illustrator (lesser- known than he deserves) by his grandson with materials from Ian Galt (1899 - 1976) who knew the artist. Staples's family emigrated from England to Canada when he was 4 years old. Staples studied under Horatio Walker, George Reid & Thomas Eakins. Glossy, black, pictorial boards with white type on spine & front. 163 pages with some colour plates, many B&W illustrations, B&W photos, bibliography, index & list of illustrations, collections & exhibitions. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall.
