Women such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks, Corrie ten Boom and Michelle Obama are admired by many not because they petitioned for recognition in the history books, but because of where they were placed in history. They were led to complete an assignment to make a difference in the lives of others. Their lives parallel the story of Queen Esther who God brought into the kingdom of Persia, “for such a time as this.” For Esther, that “time” was to save the Jewish people from an orchestrated annihilation. For other women throughout history, their “time” assignments made monumental significance in the lives of their people. Consider a Greater Purpose: Vashti, Esther and the Courageous Women Who Followed parallels the lives of women with queens Vashti and Esther to provide inspiration for others to recognize and move in their God-timed assignments.
