Sinossi

Steps to Reading enables anyone to quickly and easily teach a child to read. It is an easy-to-follow reading curriculum packaged into a series of charming workbooks that can be used by parents at home or by teachers in a classroom. Perfectly aligned with the science of reading, the books teach phonics systematically, with each step building on the one that came before. In addition to phonics, the books introduce sight words in order of frequency of use and tell you which decodable readers children can read from the very start. They give you step-by-step instructions on exactly what to say and do with the child, lots of worksheets that allow the child to practice and reinforce each lesson, as well as board and Bingo games and online activities that make learning to read fun for both you and the child.

Book 3 teaches:

  • Digraphs
  • The third set of most frequently used sight words
Steps to Reading was created by Dr. Irene Daria, a developmental psychologist who specializes in teaching children how to read and has trained elementary school teachers how to do so. The workbooks enable you to follow the exact same steps Dr. Daria uses with her students. You’ll see why so many celebrities have asked Dr. Daria to teach their children how to read, and why actress Kate Winslet says, “Irene is remarkable at teaching children how to read. How wonderful that the skills Irene so clearly and beautifully taught my children are now available in these books for parents and teachers to use.”
