Riassunto

Chicago journalist Zach Bones thought putting a drug lord behind bars was the end of the story. He was dead wrong.

For Chicago Post crime reporter Zach Bones, chasing the truth is a religion—and he’s never been afraid to bleed for it. But when he is pulled into a blacked-out Chrysler and brought face-to-face with Frankie Ritchie, a untouchable South Side drug lord, the rules of the game change overnight.

Ritchie hands Zach an anonymous leak designed to destroy a rival dealer: raw, explosive photographic evidence. But in the underworld, free tips come with lethal price tags. Before Zach can parse the truth from the setup, the rival ends up dead in a jailhouse hit—and Zach finds himself framed as the primary co-conspirator in a high-stakes murder investigation.

Trapped between a persistent detective, a cartel vacuum, and a vicious kingpin who now owns his silence, Zach has only one wild card left: Keera, his gifted girlfriend whose unsettling but accurate psychic visions offer them a razor-thin edge. But when Ritchie’s enforcers close in on her to keep Zach in line, the hunt becomes personal.

Amazon Customer reactions: "Oh, the wit and the sarcasm! (Great banter between Bones and Dash, and Bones and Uncle.) The plot was nicely built too - a little crime, a little love, a little backstabbing, a little cat and mouse - and was even capped with a little supernatural action. Everything wrapped up swimmingly, just the way I like an ending." "Great read and kept me hooked right to the end."

Informazioni sull'autore

Parker Rimes has spent his life in Europe, Australia, the UK and the US. When not writing, he starts four or five books a week. Some of them he completes. His favourite pastime is discovering new verbs and wishing he'd thought of them first. He likes animals but prefers that most of them stay in their own home. His favourite wines are those sold close to wherever he lives. In the course of his journalist life, he interviewed over a thousand people who claimed paranormal experiences occurred in their homes. Many of these stories seemed truthful. Diligent research for his novels led him to enrol in a school for mediums, where he failed nearly every psychic test. But he can now predict where to find a good parking space slightly better than the average person.
