Deslie Quinby is an author and proud working mother of two. She began conceptualizing these books shortly after her first child was born. She is now contracting independently while focusing on the most important job of all – raising a family! Jeannie Visootsak, M.D., M.Sc. Dr. Visootsak is board-certified in general pediatrics and developmental-behavioral pediatrics. She is currently Vice President of Clinical Development at Ovid Therapeutics in New York City. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Jeannie was an associate professor at Emory University School of Medicine from 2004 to 2014 and directed the Down syndrome and Fragile X syndrome centers to provide clinical care, research and education. She also provided clinical care for individuals with other developmental disabilities such as autism, genetic conditions and metabolic disorders. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters. She received her M.D. from UCLA School of Medicine and M.Sc. in clinical research at Emory University. Michael Johnson is an illustrator and graphic artist living in Atlanta, GA. He is a graduate of Georgia State University. He previously studied at the Art Institute of Atlanta in their Game Art and Design program. He has illustrated several children’s books related to genetic conditions, including Joe Learns About Fabry Disease, My Brother, MPS and Me! and Super Pompe. Ruth O’Keefe is the Marketing Director for ThinkGenetic, an online resource for those living with genetic conditions. In addition to championing for the genetic disease community, Ruth is also the Director of Marketing and Business Development at Rokkit Marketing, specializing in web, graphic design and digital strategy. Prior to beginning the new division, Ruth led Davalen to success as their Director of Social Marketing and Brand Communications establishing a recognizable brand for the IBM Premier Business Partner. Ruth resides in Massachusetts with her husband and four children.
