This edited book is a collection of the latest empirical studies of translation and interpreting (T&I) from the post-structuralist perspective. The contributors are professors, readers, senior lecturers, lecturers, and research students from an international context. The contributions are characterised by five themes:
These up-to-date topics are reflective of the shift in attitudes that is being witnessed as a new generation of translation scholars rejects the subjective assertions of previous generations, in favour of an altogether more rigorous approach. The book will notably contribute to the development of T&I and enhance our knowledge of the areas. Caiwen Wang is Senior Lecturer in Translation and Interpreting Studies at the University of Westminster, UK, and Associate Professor (Teaching) at University College London. Her research interests are in empirical studies of translation and interpreting, and the broad field of linguistics and applied linguistics. She has published in translation studies, interpreting studies, and pragmatic studies, and has had successful research funding bids. She is also a very experienced professional translator and interpreter.
Binghan Zheng is Associate Professor of Translation Studies at Durham University, UK, where he serves as the Director of the Centre for Intercultural Mediation. His research interests include cognitive translation and interpreting studies, neuroscience of translation, and comparative translation and interpreting studies. His recent publications appeared in some of the leading journals in T&I.
