Riassunto

Seventy-four years after the suspicious death of an unidentified man at a South African beach, the police open a cold-case investigation into the crime. The only clue to his identity - an undeciphered coded message written in an 1817 translated book of verse.

Sixteen thousand kilometers away, Rachel Burton begins a search for her biological family. Armed with only an incomplete Canadian birth certificate, she enlists the help of her former lover, investigative journalist and undercover CSIS agent, Hayden Jones.

When a public database DNA match connects the police investigation to Rachel's search, it triggers an alert at the British spy agency, MI6. Unwavering for decades in their efforts to preserve the dead man's anonymity, the agency nonetheless remains anxious to find those responsible for his death.

As the various protagonists attempt to advance their respective agendas, their paths continue to intersect until, ultimately, all collide in a surprising and unexpected conclusion. Inspired by real events, The Blood Labyrinth is a captivating international mystery by Canadian author B.R. Bentley.
