“U” is for Unique!Before one gets into any music theory regarding scales and chords, it needs to be understood that even though the uke looks like a “baby guitar”, it isn’t. It’s different, very unique, and offers a unique opportunity, via a fairly simple instrument, for nearly any motivated person to “get into music” in a very doable way. Among the stringed instruments there is a hierarchy regarding single note playing, how it is done, and how practical it is on various instruments. Violins & fiddles are almost always played as single note instrument. If violins would be the “King of Strings” regarding single note playing , then the ukulele would surely be the “Court Jester”!
