Dalla quarta di copertina

How do you set about determining what is right and wrong, when there’s no consensus on what ethics is, or how to ‘do’ ethics?

In The Ethics Toolkit, Julian Baggini and Peter S. Fosl equip readers with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the many theories, approaches, and concepts that moral philosophy has produced over the ages. Designed for use within and beyond the classroom, this innovative guide encourages readers to think critically about ethics while highlighting the crucial role ethics plays.

From the authors of the popular bestseller The Philosopher’s Toolkit, this volume guides readers through fundamental concepts, different ethical frameworks, major methodological approaches, contemporary issues and critiques, and more. Logically organized chapters with alphabetical entries cover a diverse range of topics, from free will and consciousness, sex, gender, and equality, to skepticism and pluralism.

Substantially revised and expanded, this new edition of The Ethics Toolkit contains a wealth of new entries, fully cross-referenced throughout, new recommended readings, detailed textual references, and numerous real-world and hypothetical examples. The edition also features an overhauled appendix of philosophical tools, listing prominent ethics institutions and identifying the most useful and current online resources, including podcasts, blogs, and magazines.

Accessible to the non-specialist and a valuable reference for professional philosophers, The Ethics Toolkit is an essential resource for anyone interested in becoming proficient with the tools of ethics, one of the most widely applied areas of philosophy.
